Here's what's new and fixed in each version

Usage Analytics

v1.4

  • New: close windows, or browser tabs directly from the switcher with the red X or Delete key — apps with unsaved changes (Word, etc.) prompt before closing instead of losing work.

  • Fixed: the activation animation could occasionally drop keystrokes typed right after switching to an app.

  • Fixed: browser window previews could look blurry for windows that weren't maximized.

  • Fixed: an activation animation issue that could leave the screen black right after waking your PC from sleep.

  • Fixed: a window could occasionally get stuck "always on top" after rapidly switching back to it.

v1.3

  • New: trigger Tabber with a trackpad swipe (3-finger, 4-finger, or both — configurable in Settings) as an alternative to Alt+Tab.

  • New: Chrome and Edge progressive web apps (PWAs) now appear as their own apps instead of being grouped under the browser.

  • Smoother navigation animations — eliminated stutter when moving between windows.

  • The window order no longer reshuffles while you're navigating the switcher.

  • Edge extension support added alongside Chrome.

v1.2

  • New: press and hold ~ to reveal incognito browser tabs.

  • Browser tab previews are now always kept up to date automatically.

  • Fixed several cases where switching tabs quickly could land on the wrong tab or show a flicker.

  • Reduced memory usage from browser tab preview capture.

  • Added an optional analytics/crash-report consent prompt during install.

v1.1

  • New: press 1-9 while switching to send an app straight to a specific monitor.

  • New: an "already running" notice if you try to launch a second copy of Tabber.

  • Improved multi-monitor support for the activation animation on mixed-DPI setups.

  • Better duplicate-folder handling for Windows Explorer tab previews.

  • Various reliability fixes for window ordering and tab thumbnails.
